Joining Hallie at Moxie Wife today.
1. Simeon got Hannah early in the morning by putting tape on the bathroom sink faucet (do boys just come wired with this knowledge? My girls didn’t have this expertise at age 5) so that it sprayed all over when she turned it on. Naomi, thinking this was a good joke, taped it again later. Hannah, having already had this joke pulled on her, wisely saw and removed the tape. BUT she didn’t remove the second piece of tape – Naomi apparently hadn’t thought one piece was enough, so poor Hannah got sprayed again, despite taking the tape off! Simeon, wanting to be thorough, had also taped the master bathroom sink’s faucet, which I wasn’t thinking about when I woke up from my nap and went to the bathroom, so I got sprayed, too, confirming that it’s much more funny to be the one watching than the one sprayed.
Michael really, really, really laughed at these stories over dinner.
2. Leila at Like Mother, Like Daughter, had a totally hilarious post that I loved. Although I was sorry that there wasn’t a short and sweet answer to how to be consistent all the time.
3. Michael decided to start the day off right by telling the kids they were having chocolate cake and whipped cream for breakfast. They took it in good part when he revealed that it was April Fools Day. Thank goodness he didn’t tell this to Tess, because I would not have gotten through the day if he had – she would have DEMANDED that the promise be made good.
4. This post was also very, very funny. Nothing like a good breastfeeding joke.
5. Simeon also laid out two outfits of Michael’s on the floor, taping the shirts down. I think maybe Sim thinks that it’s National Tape Things day, not April Fools. I’m not sure exactly what this joke was supposed to be about, but it looked as if a couple of people had been raptured from our bedroom.
Anyone else have good jokes?
