This kid is a lot of fun for everyone. Most of the time he’s really, really happy.
He’s very happy to have older siblings who have fun things that they use in their homeschool.
Because it’s never too early.
We’ve been hiking in local parks lately. Felix rides along in the Ergo pack. He’s usually fine with it, and has come to enjoy chewing on the zipper on my jacket or fleece. I had try several times to get this photo, because I had to hold the camera over my head to get his little face in there. He’s a great addition to my workout, but we don’t actually go too fast, what with the shorter-legged people who come along with us.
Felix has been starting solid foods and loves just about everything. A peeled carrot will keep him occupied for quite a while, using his little teeth to scrape bitsy bites off.
When on laps, Felix almost always would prefer to stand than sit. Michael is happy to comply…most of the time. On the floor, he’s started doing some combat crawling in order to get to important things. He especially loves books. The kind with paper that he can rip. The kids have to do a better job of keeping their stuff out of his way. When he’s truly mobile it’s going to be a wakeup call!
Felix, at the karate test, played happily on the floor. He did some singing, which was pretty loud, but Sensei didn’t even hear him, so I guess it was okay.
The kids make sure that Felix is well-loved. Tess wants to hold him, still, like a baby. He’s not in favor of that at all, so we’ve switched over to sitting on the couch together. Since he’s sitting up on his own now, too, Tess can sit behind him and feel like she’s still holding him.
Sometimes all the love gets a bit tedious, I guess. But, really, Felix does LOVE his family.
Here’s his wave. It’s a fairly kingly gesture. He’s also started doing signs. Over the weekend he added “Daddy” to “nurse” and “all done.” SO exciting! The kids are now all trying to get him to sign their name signs next. We’ll see. I’m betting that “more” is his next one.
