Naomi turned 9 today! And we had a great day.
We had attended evening Mass Saturday night, so we had a leisurely morning. We traditionally open family presents around breakfast time, because the waiting is too hard to go later than that.
Today’s presents did not disappoint.
The other kids had various plots going about when and how to put Naomi’s gifts to good use themselves, I think. :)
Naomi is a very gratifying gift receiver. It’s really fun to watch her open gifts.
The kids did a lot of the party prep. Hannah made and hung 48 snowflakes from the ceiling. I wish this picture better captured the ambience, but you’ll have to imagine it. It was pretty neat. (Naomi’s party theme was Frozen, and the kids watched the movie as part of the party.) They came up with tons of activity ideas. As it was, we only chose a couple of activities besides the movie and gifts, and nearly didn’t fit it all in!
Tess’s friend Clara came, in her Elsa dress. Which meant that Tess had to put on HER Elsa dress. So there were two very happy Elsas – happy themselves, and happy with each other. Really cute. Hannah created a Frozen Bingo game, which meant that the bigger kids were carefully watching to mark off their game boards.
One activity was to make marshmallow Olafs. The kids really got into that one.
Lego Frozen Ice Palace for a cake topper!
I think she might be having a fun time? :)
We also did Stick the Nose on Olaf.
A good time was had by all.
It’s good to turn 9. Here’s to another wonderful year with Naomi!
